Dr Zonke Mlokoti-Fikeni trained and practiced as a medical doctor in the early years of her career before moving to the pharmaceutical industry, where she has been for the last 12 years.
She completed her BSc in 1993 at the University of Transkei (Now known as Walter Sisulu University) in Umthatha, South Africa, where she also studied for her MBchB. She has also taken post-graduate management studies at Masters Level at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. She has extensive local and international medical and pharmaceutical experience and expertise.
After serving Internship and Community Service, she pursued her career in Clinical Research. She was as a Principal Investigator at Thembisa Effective Care Research Unit and also worked in the Clinical Research Departments of for Janssen-Cilag and Bristol Myers Squibb. She joined GlaxoSmithKline in 2010 as a Medical Advisor in the EMAP&J Medical Department and in 2012 became the Medical Operations Director for Africa and Asia Developing Countries.
