The Power of Partnerships: Driving Sustainable Cancer Care Solutions in Cities
With 54% of the world’s population living in urban areas, cities are uniquely positioned to drive sustainable innovation in the delivery of health services to large populations. Launched in 2017 in response to the rapidly growing cancer burden, C/Can City Cancer Challenge is building a global community of cities, institutions and partners, to deliver quality, equitable cancer care for all. C/Can believes in the power of locally-driven, public-private partnerships bringing technical assistance, complementary resources, and unique competencies to cities based on their individual needs. In this dynamic session, featuring a “rapid fire round” of questions, panellists from the Ministry of Health of Rwanda, local civil society and private sector, as well as representatives from Kumasi, Ghana, one of C/Can’s key learning cities, and the City of Kigali, that officially joined C/Can in February 2019, will share examples of successful multisectoral collaborations that are driving innovative approaches to cancer care.
