Benjamin Nortey is a Ghanaian Entrepreneur, Roboticist and Founder and CEO of MINT Innovations, a robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) company based in Accra, Ghana.
Benjamin is a multidisciplinary engineer with a broad background and extensive hands-on experience in educational robotics, social robotics, cloud robotics, robot learning and epigenetic robotics. Some of his revolutionary projects include robot for children with autism, customer service robot, educational robot and other assistive technologies.
Benjamin is playing a leading role in the development of education in Africa. He is the Founder of RoboCentre, the largest robotics and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education program for the youth in Ghana, dedicated to preparing the next generation STEM workforce. He is also the Founder of Applied Robotics Institute, an organization dedicated to Research and Development of Robotic Systems and training of human capital in emerging technologies. He serves as a committee member of the Pan-African Robotics Competition which aims to prepare young Africans and entice them to use Science and Technology to address solvable African challenges and problems, while exposing them to related careers.
Benjamin is a board member of Oh Happy Day Foundation (OHDF), an organization established to render psychosocial counselling services to people with infertility in Ghana.
He has been profiled in international media outlets such as Aljazeera, The Guardian, Voice of America and was the lead exhibitor at AfroBots exhibition as part of World Economic Forum 2016, Kigali.
He hosts the SCRAPBOT TV show, a TV program dedicated to robotics education.
