Innovate4life is an active call by Amref Health Africa, in preparation for the Africa Health Agenda International Conference (AHAIC), to innovative teams across the globe.

The aim of this exciting event was to convene a community of innovators to compete in co-creating technological solutions for specific health challenges in Africa. This will be an international event, drawing participation from health practitioners, developers and coders from all corners of the globe to find creative solutions to issues impeding health development on the continent.

Innovate4life is an active call by Amref Health Africa, in preparation for the Africa Health Agenda International Conference (AHAIC), to innovative teams across the globe.

The call rallies innovators to gather and participate in a two-day start-up hackathon in Nairobi – March 7 and 8, 2017 – with the purpose of developing solutions that respond to the significant challenges faced by mothers and infants across the continent in an endeavor to reduce occurrences of maternal and infant mortality during and following pregnancy and childbirth. The objectives of the hackathon are to:

• Create awareness on the plight of women with highlight on maternal health

• Engage developers and innovators to develop solutions that can help in curbing maternal mortality informed by the factors that prevent women from seeking medical care during pregnancy

• Inform and activate entrepreneurs and developers to participate in the hackathon
