CHW Engagement Lead, Community Health Impact Coalition

Carolyne Faith Wanyonyi is the Community Health Worker (CHW) Engagement Lead at Community Health Impact Coalition (CHIC). CHIC is making professional CHWs (proCHWs) the norm worldwide by changing global guidelines, funding, and policy. Carolyne works with a growing network of more than 8000 CHW Advocates, supporting them in being advocates for themselves, their profession, and their patients. Through networks of CHW Advocates and partners anchored in Ministries of Health, CHIC encourages country-level adoption of evidence-based global guidelines for proCHWs. She hopes to enable CHWs to develop an International Association of CHWs so that CHWs realize the highest step of the participation ladder. Having worked across Africa, Carolyne has more than 10 years of experience implementing CHW initiatives at a community, regional and national level. Prior to joining CHIC, Carolyne worked at Amref Health Africa. Carolyne holds a bachelor's degree in community psychology from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda, and is currently finalizing her master's degree in Industrial and Organizational psychology from the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
