Dr. Uchenna Nwokenna is the Acting Regional Program Director for the Regional Action through Data Project; a focused collaboration that connects regional bodies, governments, local communities and consortium partners led by BroadReach using data to drive improved decision making in healthcare across Africa utilizing innovative analytics and existing data sources to generate insights informing actions that deliver improved health systems management and outcomes. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program with a particular focus on providing leadership, management, strategic guidance and facilitating collaboration with USAID, Regional Economic Communities such as IGAD and WAHO, stakeholder governments and partner institutions. He has 16 years’ leadership experience providing technical support and guidance for various global organizations (USAID, UNDP, UNOPS, GFATM, ACHAP & Ministries of Health and Education); supporting the development of innovative public health knowledge management solutions , strategic information systems and maximizing quality and performance with key institutions. He has on his portfolio extensive experience and training in Public Sector Health Program Management, Health Systems Strengthening, Epidemiology, Environmental & Public Health Microbiology in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. Uchenna earned his MD from the University of Nigeria and M.Sc. in Epidemiology from the University of London and member West African College of Physicians. Before joining BroadReach in 2017, he served as the Program Manager for the Nigeria Supply Chain Integration Project (USAID/GFATM/MoH), and held senior strategic roles in UNOPS Myanmar; Ministry of Health Namibia ; PwC Ghana; UNDP and African Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Partnership, Botswana and University of Benin Teaching Hospital.
