Marie-Claude Mbuyi

Country Director, Democratic Republic of Congo, Pathfinder

Public health professional with more than 20 years of experience in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) programming, including Family Planning; and 12 years of clinical practice as physician both in urban and rural settings in the DRC. Ms. Mbuyi is presently the Country Director of Pathfinder in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where she manages the country program portfolio that includes projects in the RMNCAH, gender and SBC areas, covering 13 out of the 26 provinces of the country.

Ms. Mbuyi joined Pathfinder in 2013 as Technical Director for RMNCAH and also served as Deputy Country Director. Before joining Pathfinder, she worked at the World Health Organization (WHO) as National Professional Officer in charge of RMNCAH interventions. In this position, she acted as the technical expert in the reproductive, maternal, and newborn health (RMNH) areas, interacting actively with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and key stakeholders, and providing overall technical advice to ensure enhanced RMNCAH service delivery and quality of care.

She is a medical doctor and has a master’s degree in public health from the Kinshasa School of Public Health.
