Dr Cristina Stefan
Cristina Stefan received her first medical degree in Romania and subsequently obtained three master’s degrees in Pediatrics, Oncology and Epidemiology, from South Africa and the UK, as well as a PhD in Medical Education and an MBA from France. She was head of the Pediatric Oncology department at Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, before leading the South African Medical Research Council as the vice president. She was the global leader at Roche Diagnostics in Switzerland in 2016 and then in Singapore in 2019.She is the founder of the African Cancer Institute and the African Medical Research and Innovation Institute, and; she has authored many books on cancer. She has served as a consultant for the World Health Organization (WHO) consultant and is the first woman elected as president of the African Organization for Research and Training in Cancer. She received the title as the most influential woman in business in Africa and top 100 health leaders in Asia.
