Know Before You Go: Traveling to Kigali for AHAIC 2025

We are thrilled to welcome you to the Africa Health Agenda International Conference 2025, taking place in Kigali, Rwanda, from March 2-5, 2025. This year’s event will be held both in-person and virtually, ensuring everyone can participate.

To help you prepare for your journey, we have compiled the following essential information for your trip. We look forward to meeting you in Kigali!

Traveling to Kigali

We encourage all delegates traveling to Kigali to pack important or necessary items in their carry-on luggage. March is mostly a rainy season, though the African signature always promises a sunny hour even on a rainy day, so a warm jacket or raincoat will suffice. Additionally, please anticipate high travel traffic around the world and in Kigali. With potential flight schedule changes due to inclement weather, staffing issues, or missed connections, we encourage delegates to pack essentials in their carry-on luggage in case of any mishandling or delayed arrival.

Arrival & Departure Transportation

Starting from Saturday, 2 March, Amref Health Africa will provide shuttle services from Kigali International Airport to select hotels along designated routes. A transportation manual, including the full list of hotels and routes, will be made available prior to the Conference.

Please note that VIP delegates will receive special VIP transportation services as described in the registration portal.

On 5 March, after the conclusion of the AHAIC 2025 Closing Ceremony, shuttles will be available to transport delegates back to hotels or directly to Kigali International Airport for delegates with evening departures on the 3rd.

On 4 and 5 March, shuttle services will still be available from select hotels along the designated Conference shuttle routes to Kigali International Airport for departure. Passengers are advised to arrive at Kigali International Airport at least three hours before their flight. See the final shuttle schedule here.

Badge Pick-Up

Delegates are advised to pick up their Conference badge early to avoid long queues before the Opening Ceremony. The Conference badge is required to access all Conference venues, including Pre-Conferences, and to proceed through security checkpoints. Delegates must wear their badge at all times throughout the Conference program.
