What is the Africa Health Agenda International Conference (AHAIC)?

AHAIC is a leading biennial conference that unites policymakers, researchers, community leaders, and global health partners to drive health transformation in Africa. It is the largest Africa-led multi-sectoral public health convening, advancing bold solutions to Africa’s pressing health challenges.

AHAIC 2025 will take place from 2nd to 5th March 2025 in Kigali, Rwanda at the Kigali Convention Centre.

The theme for AHAIC 2025 is “Connected for Change: Addressing Socio-Ecological Dynamics of Health.”

AHAIC 2025 is co-hosted by Amref Health Africa, the Africa CDC, the World Health Organization Africa Regional Office and the Ministry of Health, Rwanda.

  • March 2: Walk for Change Challenge:

The first day, March 2nd, will be dedicated to the Walk for Change Challenge, an engaging event designed to provide a healthy kickstart to the conference. This event will coincide with Kigali Car Free Day—a historic initiative by the City of Kigali aimed at promoting healthy living and environmental conservation.

Participants of all ages and abilities will be involved in activities such as walking, jogging, cycling, skating, dancing, and more, all while advocating for better health for everyone.

AHAIC is held every two years. The last edition was held in Kigali, Rwanda, in 2023.

AHAIC 2025 is an in-person conference. However, select sessions will be live streamed for virtual audiences and these will be communicated closer to the event date. We encourage you to register and join us for an exceptional in-person experience in Kigali.

Yes, early bird discounted rate of $450 is available for those who register early. Please note that the deadline for this discounted rate ends on 30th December 2024.

Yes, group discounts are available for organizations registering multiple participants.

The payment platform has a pay-later option.  Once you select that, it allows you to automatically generate an invoice.

Yes, delegates may register to attend AHAIC 2025 at the Kigali Convention Centre. Only cash and card payments will be accepted at the venue. Receipts will be issued.

Yes, you can cancel your registration. Please refer to the cancellation policy here.

If a delegate cannot attend the conference for any reason, they have the option to designate a substitute to attend on their behalf. To arrange a substitution, delegates are required to reach out to the AHAIC Secretariat at ahaic@amref.org and copy partnerships@amref.org with the information regarding the replacement delegate. No extra fee will be incurred for substitutions, as long as the substitute delegate satisfies the same registration category conditions.

Accredited media can apply for press passes through the AHAIC website.

Yes, media representatives can schedule interviews with speakers through the conference’s media team. Please contact Maureen (Maureen.cherongis@amref.org) if you have specific interviews arranged.

The AHAIC website provides a list of recommended hotels with negotiated rates for participants. You can also access the list of hotels here.
