Bitania is an award-winning young African leader who has been playing key interventional roles to foster the meaningful engagement of youth and women in public policy at global, continental and national levels for the past 8 years, steering dialogues with Heads of State and policymakers, and crafting several partnerships with multisectoral Institutions with unwavering efforts. She is the Programme Director of Youth in Action (Y-ACT) at Amref Health Africa HQ. She was formerly the Youth Advocacy Advisor of Amref Ethiopia for the $60 million Integrated Youth Activity - Kefeta Project and Chaired Amref Ethiopia's Youth Advisory Council to ensure youth leadership in development agendas through multi-sectoral youth-adult partnerships in Ethiopia. Bitania was appointed as the first Special Adviser on Youth to EU Commissioner for International Partnerships in 2021, where she provided expertise on youth inclusion in European Union’s External relations. Bitania has received several international accolades for her commitment to social impact and sustainable development, including her listing as 100 Most Influential Young Africans 2021 and Obama Leaders 2022.
