Prof Brama KONE
Prof Brama KONE is Technical Officer in charge of Climate Change and Health at the Africa regional office of the World Health Organization (WHO/AFRO) in Congo Brazzaville. By training, he is an Associate Professor in Sanitary Engineering and Environmental Epidemiology of the African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (CAMES). Before joining WHO/AFRO, Prof Kone was a Lecturer and Researcher in Côte d’Ivoire and Togo, project leader at the Swiss Centre for Scientific Research in Côte d'Ivoire.
Prof Kone’s research interests include climate change adaptation, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) and associated health risks. He authored and co-authored some forty peer reviewed papers and book chapters and led west Africa regional research projects on climate change and health from 2009 to 2021. Prof Kone sits on the Steering Committee of the Future Earth Health Knowledge Action Network (Health KAN) since 2020.
