Dr Mbuthia holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Nairobi, as well as a Master’s degree in Public health specializing in Health Promotion from Moi University in Kenya. She is a Harvard alumnus having been involved in the Global Clinical Scholars research-training program and has over 15 years’ experience in Clinical medicine, Healthcare management, Medical affairs and clinical research in the public and private sector.

Her experience in Medical Affairs and Clinical research spans seven years in the Pharmaceutical and Diagnostics industry where she has held various roles across Sub Saharan Africa. Dr. Mbuthia is currently the Medical and Scientific Affairs Lead East and West Africa at Roche Diagnostics, a position she has held for the past two years and is based in Nairobi Kenya.
