Mavuto Shanto Thomas
Mavuto is an innovative and impact-driven leader skilled in developing and executing health promotion plans to improve health outcomes. With over 19 years of field experience and training in strategic communications programming for promoting preventive health behaviours and demand creation for health services, he leverages excellent organizational skills to engage individuals and groups in health-promotion activities. At present, Mavuto works as Chief Health Education Officer and a lead for health promotion and communication under Ministry of Health, Malawi. A knowledgeable professional specializing in delivery of health promotion initiatives and programs, including public health emergencies and he is also the current the Chairperson of the Public Health RCCE Community of Practice for Africa steering committee formed by Africa CDC and WHO. He holds a Master of Public Health and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health. He has attended and presented on a various national and international conferences on SBCC and RCCE.
